
Baseball Falls at No. 6 Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University baseball team dropped an 11-1 decision to the University of Tennessee from Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
The Volunteers are currently ranked sixth in the latest D1baseball.com poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Tennessee got to starter Ryan Kutz out of the gate with a two-run home run by Andrew Fischer and an RBI single by Dalton Bargo to jump out to the 3-0 lead.
UT added a single run in the third and fourth innings to take a 5-0 lead.
In the top of the fourth, Lipscomb had a chance to strike the scoreboard with a Parks Bouck one-out bunt single and Kai Holm following it up with a base knock of his own. However, a strikeout and fielder's choice ended the threat.
Lipscomb did get on the board in the seventh with a Damion Kenealy Jr. solo home run, his seventh of the year, to cut the deficit to 5-1.
However, two home runs in the bottom of the seventh capped a six-run inning to secure the run-rule win for the Volunteers.

Five different Bison players had a hit in the contest, led by a Damion Kenealy Jr. home run.
UP NEXT
Lipscomb will return home this weekend to start a three-game series with Eastern Kentucky University. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday from Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium.
