Baseball's Season Comes to an End at ASUN Tournament

DELAND, Fla. – The Lipscomb University baseball team saw its 2025 season come to an end with a 7-4 loss to the University of Central Arkansas in an elimination game from the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship from Melching Field at Conrad Park.

Final Score: Central Arkansas 7, Lipscomb 4
Location: DeLand, Florida (Melching Field at Conrad Park)
Records: Lipscomb (25-30), Central Arkansas (20-34)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Central Arkansas got on the board with three runs in the second. Nathan Negre scored the first run on a wild pitch, and Nathan Goodshield followed with a two-run double to the left center field gap.

Lipscomb finally got on the board in the fourth inning. With David Coppedge got to third after a hit by pitch after a Kai Holm single to move him over, Damion Kenealy Jr. brought Coppedge home on a fielder's choice.

UCA got the run back and then some with a two-run frame to lead 5-1. However, Lipscomb continued to chip away with an RBI single by Jake Berg

The pendulum went back-and-forth, as UCA countered with a run of its own in the seventh on Goodshield's second hit of the game. However, Bryce Houghton was able to retire his final batter he faced, and Tanner Lyne came in and threw two pitches for the flyout.

The Bisons put a crooked number on the board in the bottom of the seventh. Parks Bouck and Kai Holm had RBI knocks to cut the deficit to 6-4.

However, that would be as close as Lipscomb would get, as the Bears added an insurance run in the eighth to advance in the tournament.

KEY STATISTICS
Aaron Stelogeannis and Kai Holm each had two hits for the Bisons with a run scored.

In his final game with the Bisons, Parks Bouck went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.
