MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University men's tennis team won nine contests over the weekend at the MTSU Fall Invitational, hosted by Middle Tennessee State University, to start the fall season.
Oskar Szymczak and
Filippo Verdese went a perfect 3-0 in singles play on the weekend to lead the Bisons.
Friday vs. Belmont
Friday's matches against Belmont saw the Bisons win both doubles matches in tiebreak fashion.
Oskar Szymczak and
Alex Vlahos posted a 9-7 break victory to defeat their Belmont opponents.
Filippo Verdese and
Henrique Ushizima won 7-6 (5) over the Bruins.
Szymczak and Verdese picked up straight-set wins in singles play.

Saturday against the hosts in the Blue Raiders, Szymczak and Verdese picked up three-set wins in singles play. Szymczak rallied from a 1-6 loss in set one and won the next two, 6-3, 6-4.
