The Bisons Will Face Both Teams Again on Saturday

Box Score vs Purdue

NASHVILLE, TN - The Bisons opened their home season facing Western Carolina and Purdue at Draper Diamond after a long opening stretch on the road.

Against Western Carolina

Lipscomb fell 4-3 in eight innings to Western Carolina on Thursday in Nashville, but the Bisons delivered a strong offensive showing with 10 hits in the narrow defeat.

Lipscomb (4-10) jumped out to a 3-0 lead early. Elizabeth Martin opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first, and Brenna Sherman followed with an RBI single. In the second, Chapel Cunningham added an RBI single after a lead-off double from Kyla Jobe.

Macyn Kirby led the way at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3, while Martin and Sherman each recorded two hits.

Western Carolina tied the game with two runs in the fifth and a solo home run in the seventh before pushing across the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Lipscomb had the tying run 90 feet away in the bottom half but couldn't bring it home.

Despite the result, the Bisons showed early firepower and continued offensive consistency as they look ahead to their next matchup.

Against Purdue

Lipscomb dropped a 6-1 decision to Purdue on Friday night in Nashville but showed early energy and aggressive play to open the contest.

The Bisons (4-11) struck first in the bottom of the first as Briley Burns swiped second and third before scoring on a sacrifice fly from Brenna Sherman. Lipscomb put pressure on the bases early, collecting three hits from Chapel Cunningham, Macyn Kirby, and MK Hickey.

In the circle, Elizabeth Martin worked four innings, while Jesyne Espinal provided three innings of relief to close out the game.

After Purdue used a multi-run middle stretch to pull ahead, Lipscomb continued to compete defensively and looked to generate late momentum. The Bisons will aim to carry that early aggressiveness and energy into tomorrow's match up as they look to bounce back.

The Bisons will face both WCU and Purdue again tomorrow at 12:30pm and 3pm. For my information visit lipscombsports.com
