Kai Holm Named to Brooks Wallace Award Watch List for Second Straight Year

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Announced by the College Baseball Foundation on Wednesday morning, Lipscomb graduate student Kai Holm was named to the 2026 Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Award Watch List.

Given to the top shortstop in NCAA Division I, Holm returns to the Watch List after being listed last season.

The Brooks Wallace Award is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27.

So far in 11 games, the Redwood City, California native has posted a .278 batting average, putting together 10 hits, three doubles, and six RBI.

In his year-plus with the Bisons, totaling 62 games, Holm has a .289 average, including an .808 on-base plus slugging, with six homers and 40 RBI.

Holm is one of two representatives from the Atlantic Sun Conference, joining Leighton Jenkins from North Alabama.

The Bisons will return to action on Friday with a three-game series against No. 4 Mississippi State from Starkville.
