
Lions Take Second Game of Series from Baseball

FLORENCE, Ala. – The Lipscomb University Baseball team suffered a 6-2 loss to the University of North Alabama in the second game of a weekend series from Mike D. Lane Field at Bank Independent Stadium.
Final Score: North Alabama 6, Lipscomb 2

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions used a long ball by Nash Rippen to dent the scoreboard first in the bottom of the first.
In the third, after Hutson Miles led off the frame with a base hit and scampered to third on a stolen base and throwing error, Brady Miller evened the score at 1-1 with an RBI knock.
UNA blew it open in the fourth with a four-run frame. After taking the 2-1 lead, they used back-to-back RBI groundouts to double their lead to 4-1.
The fourth run came in an RBI hit by Rippen.
Lipscomb added a run in the sixth on an RBI hit by Aaron Stelogeannis to make it a 5-2 deficit, but North Alabama got it back in the bottom of the seventh.
KEY STATISTICS
Aaron Stelogeannis led the Bisons with a 2-for-4 day with an RBI.
Jace Trautner saved the Lipscomb bullpen in an immense way on Saturday, tossing a career-high five innings, allowing one earned run with two strikeouts.
