• Tossed a complete game shutout versus North Alabama in his final regular season start
• Set a career high for strikeouts in a game (8) in his performance versus North Alabama
• Named ASUN Pitcher of the Week after his complete game shutout versus North Alabama

2017-18:

• Selected to the ASUN All-Freshman Team
• Compiled a 4-4 record in 59.2 innings of work over 11 starts
• He finished the season first on the team and first among all ASUN freshman with a 3.02 ERA
• Struck out 26 batters and walked 24 while limiting opponents to a .229 batting average
• In ASUN play, Thompson was 1-3 with a 3.74 ERA and fanned 11 batters in 33.2 frames
• ERA never got above 3.33 at any point this season
• Started his career as a walk-on

High School: 

• Prepped at Male High School in Louisville, Kentucky under head coach Jeff Garrity
• Rated the 29^th-best overall player and the 8^th-best left-handed pitcher in the state of Kentucky by Perfect Game
• Named a 2017 Central Region Honorable Mention and was seleted in the Super 25 by Perfect Game
• Earned All-State honors as a senior, as well as All-Region and All-District in both 2016 and 2017
• His best career marks include a 1.10 ERA, 80 strikeouts on the mound and eight home runs at the plate
• Was voted at team captain and team MVP as a senior
• Carried a 3.96 GPA, was named Salutatorian and scored a 32 on his ACT while attending MHS
