- His father, Michael Boughton, was a 12th-round draft pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1996 and spent four seasons in professional baseball
- His father went on to serve as a hitting coach in the Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league system (2008-2012) and is now the head coach at Colleyville Covenant Christian Academy
- Father was also drafted in the 12th round by the Diamondbacks
