Hawks enters his second season with the Bisons after joining the coaching staff for the 2021 season.
Hawks arrives in the Music City from Austin Peay, where he served as a graduate assistant for the Governors.
Hawks, who has plenty of baseball experience in his young career, is excited to be apart of Bisons Nation and join the baseball program.
He has had two stints of being a graduate assistant, one at Austin Peay and one at Cumberland University. While at Austin Peay, Hawks had many responsibilities including developing the daily pitching and throwing plan, developing personal mobility and functional movements plans for players and creating scouting reports on opposing teams. During his time at Cumberland, he assisted in recruiting, field maintenance, tournament and office management, as well as defensive positioning during the conference tournament.
Hawks also comes to Nashville with some coaching experience outside of college baseball. In the summer of 2018, Hawks was an associate head coach for the Nashville Knights, where he organized and executed practice plans with his young players. He also designed strength programs and throwing programs for the players for use during and after the summer to further their development.
After his summer with the Nashville Knights, Hawks moved on to become the bullpen coach for the Falmouth Commodores in the Cape Cod League, where he helped Zach Brzykcy earn Reliever of the Year honors. He also worked with Cape League All-Stars Logan Hofmann, Franco Aleman and Zach Deloach.
Hawks completed his bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Sports Management from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn., where he also competed as a student-athlete on the baseball team. He also holds a master's degree of Science in Leadership and Organizational Administration from Austin Peay.
