A gifted all-around basketball standout from Waverly, Tennessee, Emily Pleasant played from 1994-97, leading her Lipscomb teams to a four-year record of 123-27. She played in 143 games and scored 1,484 points, including 462 field goals (42%), 198 three-pointers and 362 free throws. She was a tenacious defender who also grabbed 617 rebounds. Emily was a pioneer in establishing the Lipscomb program as a national power, leading the Bisons to the NAIA National Championship game in 1994, the Final Four in 1995 and 1996, and the Sweet Sixteen in 1997. Emily’s sophomore team went 35-4 and captured the TCAC Tournament Championship. Her junior team went 18-0 in the TranSouth and won a program-record 22 straight games and the regular season championship. In 1997, her senior year, Emily averaged 17.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game and was named First Team All-TranSouth and First Team NAIA All-American. Emily was a two-time All-TCAC Scholar Athlete, a well-rounded student-athlete who improved those around her.
