Lynn Randolph Dearing played basketball for Lipscomb from 1992-96, leading the program to its 125-23 record in her career. The amazing four-year run set a school-record winning percentage of 84.5%. Lynn will be remembered for helping to propel Lipscomb basketball to the national stage and establishing it as one of the nation’s top NAIA programs. In 1993 Lynn significantly contributed to the Lady Bisons’ Elite Eight finish at the NAIA National Tournament, and in 1994 the team advanced to the National Championship game, finishing as NAIA Runner-up. In her junior and senior years, 1995 and 1996, Lynn led the team to the NAIA National Championship Final Four. She finished her Lipscomb career as the ninth all-time leading scorer (1,492 career points) while tallying 593 rebounds.  Lynn was also an outstanding student who was named TCAC Scholar Athlete three times (1994, 1995, 1996) and NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete in 1996. In 1996 she was also presented Lipscomb’s top award for a student-athlete, the James R. Byers Award. Since leaving Lipscomb Lynn has been an outstanding administrator, teacher and coach at Goodpasture Christian School, winning five TSSAA State Volleyball Championships while recording an impressive 638-194 coaching record. Lynn Randolph Dearing is remembered as a true student-athlete who led by hard work and example.
