ATHENS, Ga. _ The Lipscomb Bisons continue to receive baseball honors. The Bisons, 1-2 in the Athens Regional of the NCAA Tournament, placed two players on the All-Tournament Team.
Outfielder Blake Bratcher from Nashville and starting pitcher Rex Brothers from Shelbyville both were selected.
Bratcher batted .455 and was one of the leading hitters for the Bisons in the tournament. He also scored five runs, one of the leaders in the tournament in that category. He knocked in seven runs in the three games. He had one double and one home run among his five hits.
Brothers was the starting pitcher and the game winner against top-seeded Georgia in a 10-7 decision. He threw 5.1 innings, allowing nine hits and six runs, two earned. He walked four and struck out three. His earned run average for the tournament was 3.38.
