FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lipscomb baseball team is set to open the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Baseball Championship against the home-standing and No. 5 seeded Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast Wednesday night at 6 p.m. CT at Swanson Stadium.

Lipscomb and FGCU have met in the A-Sun Championship in each of the last two seasons with the Bisons coming out on top in three of the four.

• Lipscomb and FGCU have met 28 times in the all-time series history with the both teams winning 14 each. The Bisons swept the Eagles three two weeks ago in Fort Myers and only allowed two runs all weekend. Lipscomb has beaten FGCU in eight of the last 10 meetings between the schools.
• The Bisons sit atop the A-Sun rankings in stolen bases (87), ERA (3.73), opposing batting average (.255), saves (11), fewest hits allowed (448), fewest runs allowed (231) and fewest doubles allowed (72).
• Lipscomb won 11-straight road games. That is the longest streak in the nation.
• The Bisons rank 11^th in the nation with a .978 team fielding percentage.
• Martinez-McGraw currently sits third the league with seven wins. He ranks fourth in innings pitched (86.2) and fifth in ERA (2.39). He is tied for second on the A-Sun active career leaders with 16 wins.
• Senior shortstop Grant Massey ranks among the A-Sun’s leaders in multiple categories: third in stolen bases (18) and assists (167), seventh in batting average (.345), eighth in double plays (32), 10^th in RBIs (43) and hits (71) and 14^th in on-base percentage (.400).
• The Bisons currently sit second in the nation in bunt singles with 34, just two behind Campbell’s 36. Freshman Michael Gigliotti is a main reason for the success, leading the NCAA individually with 21 bunt singles.
• Senior second baseman Mike Korte is 16^th in the nation with 14 sacrifice bunts on the year.
• Lipscomb leads the conference and ranks 22^nd nationally with 87 stolen bases on the year. That is just six from the school’s NCAA single-season record of 93.  Massey leads the team with 18, while Gigliotti is second with 17 and Allison is third with 12. The Bisons are the only team in the A-Sun with three players with double digit swipes.
• Allison ranks sixth in RBIs (51) and walks (30), eighth in doubles (14) and home runs (7), ninth in stolen bases, 11^th in slugging percentage (.495) and total bases (99) and 18^th in hits (62).
• Gigliotti’s 74 hits are the third most in the A-Sun while his 47 runs scored are fifth most. He ranks fourth in batting average (.352), seventh in on-base percentage (.423) and 17^th in slugging percentage (.462).
• Redshirt freshman Allan Hooker leads the team with four triples on the year. That is tied for fourth in the league and is just one shy of tying Allison for the school’s NCAA single-season record.
• Jason Ziegler stands third on the school’s career-saves list with 10. Nick Andros is tied for fifth with six.
• With a series-opening win over Northern Kentucky on May 14, Lipscomb skipper Jeff Forehand picked up career win No. 450.
