Countdown to Tipoff: 22 days until Bison Basketball

After months of uncertainty with no timetable of when we would next see the Lipscomb Bisons back game action after the ASUN Conference postponed its fall season, clarity came in mid-September when the NCAA approved a Nov. 25 start to the college basketball season.

Over the next month we will track the dwindling days to a long-awaited tipoff by matching the countdown clock to corresponding numbers of the men's basketball team. As we hit the first week of November, the Bisons are 22 days out from the season opener, so next up is No. 22 Jacob Hobbs.

The 6-foot-7 forward enters his second season in Nashville and head coach Lennie Acuff expects Hobbs to play a bigger role for the Bisons.

Hobbs saw action in 25 games last season where he averaged 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. He shot .317 from the field (13-of-41) and .333 from deep (6-of-18). He pulled down eight offensive boards and 21 on the defensive end.

His best game of the season came at home against Jacksonville where he set season highs in points (9) and rebounds (4) in only 10 minutes. His presence was felt on the defensive side as well after blocking four shots against Trevecca and three against Rhodes in his collegiate debut.
