
Bisons Fall 9-7 to Auburn at Ken Dugan Field

QUICK HITS
- Auburn took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second.
- Lipscomb responded in the bottom of the second by scoring four runs to take a 4-1 lead.
- The Tigers responded by plating four of their own in the top of the third to retake the 5-4 lead. Auburn increased its lead further to 9-4 in the top of the fifth.
- Lipscomb got a run back in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead 9-5.
- The Bisons continued to chip away at the lead, making it a 9-7 game in the bottom of the sixth.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Auburn took the lead in the second inning by way of a solo shot. It would mark the Tigers first of three long balls of the game.
- The Bisons responded in the bottom of the inning by working back-to-back walks to spark the offense.
- Maddux Houghton tied the game 1-1 with a sacrifice bunt.
- Brian Moore opened things up with a double to left field that scored two more to extend the Lipscomb lead 3-1.
- Haddon Adams picked up the final RBI and third hit of the inning when he beat the throw to first base to make the score 4-1.
- Two more Auburn home runs scored four in the top of the third as they retook the 5-4 lead.
- The Tigers tacked on four more in the top of the fifth to extend its lead 9-4.
- Lipscomb Got a run back in the bottom of the fifth when Chris Bashlor crushed his second home run of the season.
- Lipscomb scored two more in the bottom of the sixth, making the score 9-7. Houghton continued to stay hot with a one-out homer to center field for the first run of the inning. With two-outs, the Bisons did more damage when Bashlor worked a bases-loaded walk for the Bisons final score of the night.
- Down by two runs, Lipscomb dug in and tried to tie things up in the bottom of the ninth. Malik Williams leadoff the inning with a walk to give the Bisons a base runner. He made his way to third on two groundouts but was ultimately stranded.

Lipscomb will start conference play this weekend when it hosts Kennesaw State. First pitch for the series is slated for 4 p.m. Friday, March 19 at Ken Dugan Field.
