Men’s Tennis Completes Final Fall Tournament

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Lipscomb's men's tennis concluded their fall season over the weekend at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Steve Baras Invite. The two-day tournament saw the Bisons collect a pair of singles wins on Friday along with a doubles win and an overall 5-4 record on Saturday.

Maksim Bogdanovich and Alex Mesquida teamed up for a 6-4 win over their Jacksonville State foes in the Power "C" flight. Carlos Salas Tulla and Luka Stojanovic fell 6-1 to their opponents from Chattanooga.

All four Bisons fell in the opening round of singles play in Chattanooga as they competed in the Gold flight, the Chatt flight, the Mocs flight, and the Scrappy flight.

Mesquida and Stojanovic each picked up one of the Bisons' singles wins on Friday. Mesquida earned a bye through the second round of play while Stojanovic earned his straight set victory over an opponent from Austin Peay (6-2, 6-1).

Saturday saw the partnership of Salas Tulla and Stojanovic earn a bye to the top consolation match in the Choo Choo flight where they fell 6-3 to a duo from Chattanooga. Bogdanovich and Mesquida fell to UTC foes in the second round of play Saturday morning but won their consolation match against opponents from UAB 7-5.

Lipscomb's squad earned a 3-1 singles record on Saturday throughout their respective flights with all three wins coming from straight set triumphs. Bogdanovich went 6-2, 6-2 over his opponent from UAB while Carlos earned a 7-6(7), 6-3 win over his foe from Austin Peay. Mesquida brought home the Bisons' third win of the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win over his own UAB opponent.
