The Lipscomb University Athletics Department and the Lipscomb Baseball family mourn the loss of former baseball student-athlete Zane Barr who passed away after a long health battle. 
 
Barr was a member of the 2020-2021 baseball team before taking a leave of absence due to health reasons. Though he was unable to compete last season, Barr was a beloved member of the Baseball program, and his presence will be dearly missed by his coaches and teammates. 
 
He joined the Bisons after spending two seasons at Johnson County Community College where he played with fellow Bisons Malik Williams and Dylan Bierman. A native of Independence, Mo., Barr played at Fort Osage High School where he was a Missouri Baseball Coaches Association Class 5 All-State Second-Team member as an outfielder.
