Men’s Tennis Shows Out at ITA Regional Championships

Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis sent a contingent of Bisons to Chattanooga, Tenn. to compete in the ITA Regional Championships over the weekend. The Bisons made a strong showing with a push from the doubles pairing of Juan Lombisano and Facundo Perlov advancing to the round of 16.

Play opened on Thursday with Lombisano and Perlov against a duo from Belmont and Sebastian Dominguez Collado and Henrique Ushizima facing off with a duo from Middle Tennessee State. Lombisano and Perlov won 8-7(7-3) against their Bruins foes, but Dominguez Collado and Ushizima were felled 8-3 by their Blue Raiders opponents.

In singles play on the first day, Dominguez Collado earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over his opponent from East Tennessee State University and advanced to the next day into the round of 64. Lombisano, Ushizima, and Perlov each fell in straight sets to their opponents on Thursday.

Friday's action saw Dominguez Collado fall in singles play to his opponent from Vanderbilt 6-4, 6-1 in the round of 64. Lombisano and Perlov found success once more on Friday, earning an 8-3 victory over their Butler opponents to advance to the round of 16 on Saturday.

The duo faced off with a pair from Ball State University for their round of 16 matchup, but their incredible run at the tournament was cut short when they fell 8-3 to their opponents.
