HOW IT HAPPENED
After settling into the match, FGCU called on Lipscomb's Noah Kump early. Kump made a pair of saves in the 11' and 14' minutes.
In the 16' minute, Dan Karsten had a good chance on a counter attack with a shot that hit the side netting.
FGCU struck first when a ball that was pinging around in the box was put away by the Eagles for a 1-0 lead in the 28' minute.
Lipscomb picked up the intensity after the goal and Javanne Smith put a shot on frame that forced an FGCU save.
William Bryan had another good opportunity when he slipped in behind the Eagles' defense, but he was taken down from behind as he shot, and the ball went wide of goal. Bryan remained active, forcing another FGCU save in the 40' minute.
After the half, Lipscomb was the aggressor and created chances, but couldn't convert.
FGCU took advantage with another strike in the 52' minute that found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
The Bisons had a lot of quality in front of goal in the final minutes of the match, but were unable to break through, ultimately falling 2-0 at FGCU.
