Track & Field Shines at Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. – Lipscomb track & field headed down to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invitational this weekend in one of their final regular season showings before the ASUN Outdoor Championships in a few weeks. The Bisons recorded totaled 18 personal bests and freshman Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng clocked a new program record in the men's 400m dash.
 
Freshman Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng once more flexed his tremendous speed for the Purple and Gold as he put up his time of 46.43 in the men's 400m dash, finishing fifth overall and setting a new program record in the process.
 
The men's squad sprinters continued to show off in the 100m dash as all five runners earned personal bests in the event, led by Joe Kennedy with a 10.68 and a 19th overall finish.
 
Makayla Watson also earned a 19th place finish in the women's 200m dash with a 24.57. Watson logged another top-20 finish with a 11.97 in the women's 100m dash.
 
Brady Johnson and Levi Streeval earned top-15 finishes in the men's 800m. Johnson earned ninth overall with his time of 1:50.70 and Streeval clocked a 1:51.39 to finish 12th overall.
 
Streeval went on to clock a personal best 3:48.86 in the men's 1,500m to finish eighth overall while Mollie Longmire earned a sixth overall finish in the women's 5,000m with a 17:25.68 in the event.
 
Anna Richardson earned a top-10 finish for the Bisons' field squads with a 38.96m throw in the javelin.
 
UP NEXT
Lipscomb's squad will return to Nashville over Friday, Apr. 26th-Saturday, Apr. 27th for the Outdoor Music City Challenge, hosted by Vanderbilt.
