HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
In the bottom of the second, Austin Peay made it a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run.

Lipscomb, after 11 in a row were retired at the plate, finally broke the streak with a Keaton Mahan home run, his first of the season, to cut the deficit in half, 2-1.

APSU responded in the bottom half of the inning with two runs, including a leadoff home run.

The Governors put the game away with three more runs in the eighth to seal the opening game of the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
In the night cap, Brady Miller did not waste time after the break with a leadoff solo shot to left field for his first collegiate home run.

Unfortunately, the Lipscomb defense was unable to hold the lead, as Austin Peay scored three runs with the help of two Bisons errors.

However, Lipscomb came out swinging in the second inning. After Damion Kenealy Jr and Keaton Mahan reached base with one out, Kai Holm doubled to the gap for even the score at 3-3.

On the very next pitch, Alejandro Ludeiro smashed a baseball over the high center field wall for his first long ball of his collegiate career to give the Bisons the 5-3 lead.

Peay responded again in the bottom half of the frame after the first two runners reached base. With runners on first and second, John Bay flipped the lead back to the Govs for good with his three-run shot, 6-5, before Gus Freeman added another run with his long ball to make it 7-5 through two innings.

Lipscomb added leadoff home runs by Kai Holm in the fourth and David Coppedge in the fifth, but a six-run seventh by Austin Peay ended the game via run-rule.
