HOW IT HAPPENED
For the third straight game, Eastern Kentucky plated a run in the first inning thanks to an RBI single by Dylan Rogers.
After EKU left the bases loaded in the second, the Bisons responded with three runs in the bottom half.
Jacob Tobias went 341 feet over the right field wall, and just out of reach of the out-stretched glove of Tait Nunnally, for his fourth home run of the season.
After the Bisons loaded the bases,
Jake Berg induced a groundout to third to score
Keaton Mahan and take the 2-1 lead.
Parks Bouck followed with a sharp infield single to extend his hitting streak to 16 games and on-base streak to 21 that saw
Collin Goda score from third for the 3-1 advantage.
In the fourth, a lead-off solo home run by Goda made it a 4-1 score for the home team. Three batters later, following a Berg hit by pitch, Bouck smashed his fourth home run of the season with a two-run bomb.
EKU cut the deficit to 6-2 in the fifth thanks to a lead-off home run by Silas Shaffer. In the sixth, they trimmed it even more with two runs on a fielder's choice RBI from Shaffer and a RBI knock from Marui Bejarano.
Lipscomb added some insurance with single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to take an 8-4 lead. An RBI single by
Ryan Austin in the seventh and a
David Coppedge sacrifice fly in the eighth helped the Bisons secure the victory and win the series over the Colonels.
