Volleyball Announces 2026 Schedule
6/15/2026 3:04:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Volleyball program, led by first-year head coach Sarah Baldwin, has announced the 2026 schedule. Twenty-four matches are on this year's schedule.
Thirteen of the contests will be played inside Allen Arena, where the Bisons are 201-85 since the facility opened for volleyball in 2002.
"I have high expectations for these women. Those standards start with how we compete every single day. We have an 'earn everything' mentality - no one is guaranteed anything, and this group will play with an edge and take nothing for granted. That's the standard from day one," said Baldwin.
In the preseason, the Bisons will host two matches: first with cross-town foe Middle Tennessee State on Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. and Alabama the following Saturday, Aug. 22 for a 2 p.m. first serve.
The regular season revs up the next weekend, Aug. 28-29, with matches against Memphis and the College of Charleston.
Memphis returns to the schedule for the first time since 2006 (when they played to 30 points per set), when the Tigers defeated the Bisons in straight sets in the Bluff City.
This will be the first-ever meeting for Lipscomb and the College of Charleston, as the Bisons will play five new opponents in 2026.
The second weekend will feature Kansas on Sept. 3, Florida State on the fifth and South Alabama on the sixth to end the five-match home stand.
Kansas makes its second trip to Nashville in the series history and the first since 2021.
Florida State, another first-time opponent for LUV, reached the NCAA Tournament back in 2024 with a 21-10 record and 13-7 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
South Alabama is back on the schedule for the first time since 2013, when the Bisons defeated the Jaguars in straight sets in Allen Arena.
Lipscomb's first road trip of the season will feature a trip to the Pacific Northwest to face the University of Washington and Washington State University on Sept. 10-11. These will be first-time foes for the Bisons in their Division I history.
The "road swing" continues the following weekend, but the Bisons will stay in metro Nashville to take on Vanderbilt in Memorial Gymnasium on Sept. 18 and Belmont at the Curb Event Center the following day.
A familiar foe returns to the schedule for the Bisons, as they wrap up the non-conference schedule with the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech on Sept. 22 inside Allen Arena. This will mark the ninth all-time meeting, and it will be the first since Lipscomb's four-set win on Sept. 2, 2011 at home.
"Our non-conference schedule is built to test us early. Matching up with programs like Kansas, Florida State, Washington, Washington State and Vanderbilt is a real opportunity to perform, and prepare to attack ASUN conference play once it arrives," said Baldwin.
The 2026 ASUN Schedule will look different, as the Bisons will continue to see Bellarmine, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, North Florida, Queens and Stetson. Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama and West Georgia will depart for the United Athletic Conference starting with this upcoming season.
The ASUN did add one school, the University of West Florida out of Pensacola, as they will begin their provisional transition from NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference to Division I this season.
"The ASUN Conference continues to be competitive and adding West Florida contributes to that competition," added Baldwin. "We welcome our new conference peer, and our main goals have not changed year-to-year. We fully expect to earn our place atop the ASUN and put ourselves in a position to compete for the championship and a shot at an NCAA tournament appearance."
Playing 14 conference matches, the teams will play a home-and-home. Below is the breakdown.

Here is the series history against ASUN teams:
The 2026 ASUN Championship will take place on Nov. 19-22 from Fort Myers, Florida on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University.
"This is a resilient, high-energy group - they're competitive, they're bought in, and they've earned a ton of respect during the spring preseason. Recognizing the legacy and respecting what Lipscomb Volleyball has been to this point, I am wholly locked in on what our women can become. We are excited to open at home on August 28th against Memphis, and we'll be ready," said Baldwin.
