CONWAY, Ark. – Lipscomb track & field closed the 2024 ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday in Conway. The Bisons racked up four more ASUN Champion individual titles to their tally as Kiara Carter, Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng, James Schmit, and Colbi Borland placed first in the women's 1500m, men's 400m, and men's 800m, and women's 5000m respectively.
Ofosu-Kwarteng was named the 2024 ASUN Outdoor Championship MVP for his performance throughout the weekend.
The women's squad finished third overall, while the men's side finished fourth.
Kiara Carter had an outstanding final day in Conway, highlighting her Individual Champion title in the 1500m. Carter ran a Lipscomb record and ASUN Championship record time of 4:14.55, topping the previous record that Carter set last season.
Freshman Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng brought home the Bisons' second ASUN Individual Champion title of the day in the men's 400m dash. Ofosu-Kwarteng is the personal best time of a personal best for the young stud.
James Schmidt was the third and final Individual Champion for the Bisons. He took home gold in the men's 800m with a 1:50.09, a personal record for the junior.
Several individuals earned podium finishes to close out the meet. The Bisons' first podium finish was Anna Richardson in the first event of the day, women's javelin. Richardson recorded a throw distance of 38.39, which was good for third place in the event.
To go along with his first-place finish in the 400m, Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng collected two more podium finishes, including a second in the 200m with a 21.05 time and then a third in the 4x100m along with his Wessel Vandernest, Joe Kennedy, and Aveion Hayes.
Braedon Palmer took part in the 1500m and secured a third-place finish with a 3:46.54 final time, while on the women's side of the same event, Ellie Brewer also earned a third-place podium finish with a 4:24.43 time.
Two more individuals had third-place performances on Saturday. Brady Johnson ran a 1:50.21 in the 800m, and Makayla Watson ran a 23.93 in the 200m.

The qualifying Bison will advance to the NCAA East First Round, hosted by the University of Kentucky from May 22-25.
