
Baseball Drops Series Opener to Central Arkansas

BENTON, Ark. – Nine total runs between the fifth and sixth innings was enough for the University of Central Arkansas to rout the Lipscomb University baseball team, 11-1, Sunday night, to open a three-game series from Everett Field from the Benton High School campus.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Central Arkansas took advantage of a throwing error by Lipscomb that helped them score two runs in the third inning.
The Bisons responded in the top of the fourth. Following a lead off double by Jake Berg, Parks Bouck brought him home with an RBI double.
In the bottom half of the frame, after a walk and hit by pitch, Jake Lynch came in with two outs and ended the inning with a flyout.
The Bears came back swinging in the bottom of the fifth after a quick 1-2-3 inning in the top half. With runners on second and third and two outs, a throwing error by the Bisons extended the inning for the Bears, as they dropped six runs to extend the lead 8-1.
UCA put the game in run-rule effect with three more runs off a bases-clearing double by Jagger Schattle.

Parks Bouck drove in the lone RBI for the Bisons on Sunday, off a Jake Berg double.
